I Edition 2024-2025
Health Footprint: Technology and Sustainability
The Health and Sustainability Action Group will work during its 5th Edition (2023-24) on the Health Footprint: Technology and Sustainability, with the aim of promoting the contribution and opportunities of technological advances in people's health and the health system, highlighting good practices and jointly creating actions and tools that help address this great challenge.
We will do so based on our Health Footprint scheme, taking it a step further and integrating technology into it:
- From the perspective of Scope 1, we will address how technology is an added value when it comes to maximizing employee well-being, as well as the challenges it poses.
- Scope 2 , how technology can be an ally to offer healthier products and services for customers and consumers.
- And in Scope 3 , we will focus on the vital link between technological advances in the healthcare system and their impact on society and sustainability.
- Understand and strengthen collaboration in the value chain:
Analyze the interrelationships between the different actors in the health sector to identify synergies and take advantage of opportunities that drive the sustainable transformation of the sector. - Expand sustainability knowledge:
Generate an in-depth understanding of key sustainability challenges and opportunities, highlighting priority areas for action. - Move towards decarbonization:
Contribute to the reduction of emissions from the sector, which represents approximately 4% to 5% of global emissions, a level comparable to that of the world's fifth largest emitter, after China, the US, India and Russia. - Promote the circular economy:
Identify and promote solutions that increase circularity, with special attention to waste management and the sustainable use of water. - Maximize positive social impact:
Explore and implement strategies that enhance the social impact of the sector, both internally and externally, consistent with its core mission of caring for people.
