The Social Impact Cluster is the business leadership meeting point focused on increasing business ambition in sustainability; accelerating action with a focus on the Social 'S'; and enhancing partnerships and collaborations among its members and with leading institutions and organizations.

The cluster - led in 2023 by Grupo Cooperativo Cajamar, ILUNION, Mahou San Miguel, ManpowerGroup and Naturgy - is made up of more than 50 large companies, including companies listed on the IBEX 35, subsidiaries of multinationals, public companies and family businesses.

The European social sustainability agenda, social impact measurement and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) aspects will focus the work of this initiative in 2023. 2023.

Objectives

Driving ambition

To develop a leadership position in social impact for the participating companies, making the cluster a Spanish business benchmark in this area.

Accelerate action

To transfer to the Spanish context the main trends and conversations that are taking place worldwide from a business perspective. Contribute to generate greater knowledge and accelerate business action and commitment in this area.

Strengthening alliances

Work together with public administrations and opinion leaders to have a positive impact on the national context.

Each year the Social Impact Cluster focuses on the most relevant and urgent issues from a business point of view in the social sphere, analyzing the main challenges and opportunities that will set the sustainability agenda in the short and medium term.

In 2023, the initiative focuses on bringing the European Union's vision and momentum in social sustainability closer, on analyzing the issue of social impact measurement and on accelerating the valorization of the importance of the EID strategy as one of the pillars of social sustainability.

 

  • In the first part of this edition, we will delve into the European perspective of social sustainability, delving into European legislation and initiatives in this area, such as the latest advances in due diligence and social taxonomy. We will also discuss what to expect from the Spanish presidency of the Council of the EU during the second half of the year.
  • In the second part of this edition, we will focus on the measurement of social impact, with special emphasis on the most relevant tools or initiatives, aligned with the need to strengthen control, reporting and accountability mechanisms for social impact.
  • At the close of the edition, we will hold the II Forética DEI, the 2nd Business Forum on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, with the participation of both institutional and senior management of the leading companies in the initiative and other leading organizations in the field.

Forética, as a national partner of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), maintains a direct relationship of collaboration with the areas involved in social impact issues. In addition, since 2019, it has been an ally of the World Benchmarking Alliance (WBA), an international benchmark organization in measuring the impact and contribution of the business sector to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In addition, Forética is the first Spanish organization to join theEqual Pay International Coalition (EPIC). With this alliance, Forética joins the coalition led by the International Labor Organization (ILO), UN Women and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The commitment of this coalition is to work for the reduction of the gender pay gap at an international level and with a multi-sectoral vision.
