Sustainable Cities 2030
Logo. Sustainable Cities 2030

Cities are, today, at the epicenter of many of the global sustainability challenges and solutions. In this context, the private sector, together with local public administrations and civil society, are key and have many opportunities for the development of more sustainable and resilient cities in social, environmental and economic terms, thus contributing to the achievement of SDG 11.

Forética's Sustainable Cities 2030 initiative is the business platform of reference whose ambition is to promote the contribution of the private sector and public-private collaboration for the development of sustainable cities in Spain.

To do so, search for:

  • To advance in the understanding and integration by companies of strategic approaches and actions linked to the sustainability of cities from an ESG perspective.
  • Emphasize the importance of public-private collaboration and partnerships as fundamental levers, in line with SDG 17, to achieve the urban sustainability goals.

As a partner in Spain of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, Forética collaborates with this organization with the aim of transferring to the Spanish context the work that is being developed in the field of cities, from its area of Cities & Mobility.

Forética and the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge have signed a framework collaboration agreement to promote sustainable and environmentally responsible business management, especially through the Spanish Office for Climate Change (OECC), which reports to the Ministry.

At the national level, the Sustainable Cities 2030 Initiative is supported by leading organizations and institutions in the field of urban sustainability, such as the CONAMA Foundation, Distrito Castellana Norte and the Madrid World Capital of Engineering, Construction and Architecture Association (MWCC).

The initiative has also counted on the participation in the sessions with prestigious organizations such as the World Economic Forum, C40 or UN Habitat Spain, as well as with the presence of city councils such as Madrid, Seville or Vitoria.

Forética also maintains strategic alliances with forums and events such as the Smart City Expo World Congress and the Cities Forum, among others. In 2023, Forética will organize the annual public event of the Sustainable Cities 2030 initiative, at the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona, which this year will be held from November 7 to 9.
