- With the collaboration of the Human Rights Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and Marca España, Forética organized a meeting with large companies to analyze the important role of business in the application of human rights at a global level and the challenges and opportunities that arise in this area.
The headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation hosted this meeting in which the companies in attendance were able to learn about and discuss the National Action Plan for Business and Human Rights and deepen in its bases through the General Director of the Human Rights OfficeAdela Díaz.
Forética, which was part of the working group that drew up the Plan, has been working for years on the need to integrate human rights in the management of companies, as something intrinsic and transversal in organizations.
With this conference, Forética has opened a meeting point between companies and the Human Rights Office - as the author of this plan - to exchange challenges, good practices and keys to collaboration in order to achieve the objectives set out in the National Human Rights Action Plan.
Key points of the Business and Human Rights National Action Plan
The Plan, approved by the Council of Ministers on July 28, reflects the national commitment to protect and promote human rights. A commitment that requires the involvement of all social actors, especially companies. In order to lay the foundations for its application by companies and to serve as a guide in the integration of human rights in business management, the Human Rights Office drew up this National Action Plan.
The Plan contributes to strengthening the competitive advantage of Spanish companies in the global market, generating a framework to mitigate risks linked to the protection of human rights. It also sets out the requirements that companies must meet in their commitment to comply with human rights.
