Grupo Albia joins Forética to reinforce its commitment to sustainability and CSR
  • Through this agreement, Albia becomes the first company in the funeral industry to join this organization, which is a national benchmark.
  • As a member of Forética, and together with the rest of the actions it already carries out, the company continues to frame sustainability within its business strategy and vision.

Grupo Albia, a leading company in the national funeral industry, has joined Forética, a leading organization in sustainability and corporate social responsibility. Through this agreement, Albia becomes the first company in the [funeral] sector to join the aforementioned entity, known throughout the Spanish geography, as an organization specializing in strengthening and integrating social, environmental and good governance aspects in the strategy and management of companies.

Forética, representative of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) in Spain, and leader of the Spanish Business Council for Sustainable Development, has the mission of providing companies with the bases and guidelines to promote and reinforce sustainability within their strategic axes, through a unique action model, supervised and applied by highly qualified and reputable professionals.

Through this alliance, Albia continues to strengthen its commitment to sustainability and compliance with ESG criteria (social, economic and governance). Therefore, and in line with this objective, the company has created its own Sustainability Department, whose main goals are to ensure internal and external development, ensure the achievement of the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) and create synergies with organizations that share these values, such as Forética and AEC (Spanish Association for Quality).

Complementing this strategy, all areas of Albia are aligned with these criteria, focusing their activity to ensure the highest quality standards in terms of social, environmental, infrastructure and operational aspects. Proof of this is the performance of [areas such as] HR, through the integration of the Organization's Equality Plan; the nature of the centers that make up the geographical network, with infrastructures that are benchmarks in energy efficiency; and also the daily work of Operations, implementing actions such as, for example, the use of bins and urns made from biodegradable materials or the use of electric vehicles, among others.
