ASISA Group joins Forética as part of its sustainability strategy
  • In recent years, the company has invested heavily in adapting its facilities to make them more sustainable, has opted for teleworking, sustainable mobility and the use of energy from 100% renewable sources.
  • During the pandemic caused by COVID-19 these initiatives have been successfully multiplied and strengthened.

Madrid, February 22, 2021- The ASISA Group has joined Forética, Spain's leading business organization in sustainability and social responsibility, to reinforce its commitment to the sustainability of the planet and the achievement of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, as well as to promote a business model in which business efficiency is combined with the values of social responsibility and cohesion.

In addition, the ASISA Group will participate in two projects led by Forética: the Climate Change Cluster, which seeks to promote private sector leadership on climate issues; and the Transparency, Good Governance and Integrity Cluster, with the aim of promoting a sustainable corporate governance model and addressing various issues related to the management of ESG (environmental, social and governance) aspects.

Dr. Enrique de Porres, CEO of ASISA, explains that joining Forética "is a further step in the group's aim to establish alliances that will enable us to strengthen the social, environmental and good governance aspects of the company's strategy and management, as well as to encourage initiatives aimed at promoting the health and well-being of people, essential aspects for sustainable development".

For the CEO of ASISA, the progress of the pandemic caused by COVID-19 has highlighted the importance of protecting the health of individuals and their environment, has tested the capacity and strength of the healthcare system and has exposed the shortcomings of the economic system, "which is forcing an unprecedented community effort and has helped concepts such as sustainability and social responsibility to become more prominent on the agendas of large companies on a permanent basis".

Along these lines, Dr. de Porres stressed that "over the past year, marked by the extension of COVID-19, some of the ASISA Group's sustainability initiatives have been key to protecting the health of its employees and patients". For Dr. de Porres, "the group has demonstrated its ability to react and its resilience in a truly complex scenario".

For his part, Germán Granda, CEO of Forética, added: "The incorporation of the ASISA Group into our network of more than 200 members demonstrates our strong commitment to providing a joint strategic response that raises ambition and enhances action in the face of major environmental, social and good governance challenges".

Over its more than 40 years of history, the ASISA Group has always been characterized by its commitment to healthcare and to society in general. This commitment forms part of its founding values and principles and guides the actions of all the Group's companies. In this respect, the ASISA Group, in its efforts to offer the best comprehensive healthcare with the utmost respect for the environment, has invested heavily in adapting its facilities to make them more sustainable; it has made a commitment to teleworking, sustainable mobility and 100% renewable energy, prioritizing efficiency, the implementation of cleaner energies, the consumption of local products and, at the same time, promoting economic dynamism.

Forética is the leading organization in sustainability and corporate social responsibility in Spain. Its mission is to integrate social, environmental and good governance aspects into the strategy and management of companies and organizations. It currently has more than 200 members.
