LaLiga has published the Guide to Sustainable Clubs as a working tool, which seeks to promote and assist the integration of Corporate Social Responsibility in the strategic plans of professional soccer clubs.
It is intended as a general Action Plan for Clubs, but can be adapted to the current situation of each Club.
The objective of this document is to make you understand all that the concept of sustainability implies for a sports organization: what it is, why it is important, what advantages it implies and what actions are relevant to integrate sustainability into your day-to-day business.
The action plan seeks to enable LaLiga clubs to implement a sustainable strategy beyond traditional Social Responsibility, in order to respond to current demands in this area. Its initial basis is the clear definition of what it means to be a sustainable club, through a desk analysis that takes into account industry benchmarks, after which we expose the standard of what requirements are necessary and desirable to be a sustainable club and delve into the most relevant aspects in this area for clubs and their legislation. In addition, it is accompanied by a self-diagnosis tool for sustainable clubs, which together with the guide will mark the way for everyone to reach the standard of desirable practice.
Based on this diagnosis, the Club will be able to decide which aspects are of highest priority, and to follow the recommendations and measure progress with the use of the tool each year.
The ultimate goal is:
- To orient towards the adoption of responsibility and sustainability measures in accordance with the current situation.
- Clearly inform of those actions that must be complied with.
- Encourage the implementation of local initiatives in line with the needs of each territory.
- To constitute a standard and reference guide for the sports industry.
