Forética presents Enterprise, 2020

Within the framework of the IV CSR Conference of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya ( UOC) on Responsible Technological Transformation, Training and Employability throughout Life and with the support of Eticentre and the Balearic Government, Forética presented the keys to the new call for Enterprise 2020. Future of Work, whose deadline for submission of initiatives ends on November 30.

The conference was supported by the President of Eticentre, Miquel Angel Benito and the Director General of Transparency and Good Governance of the Balearic Government, Montserrat Berini. In this session held at the UOC headquarters in Palma de Mallorca, the challenges of the future of work in the framework of employment and employability and the opportunities offered by technological transformation in maximizing positive environmental and social impacts have been analyzed.

During the session, the keys to the Enterprise 2020 project were presented. Future of Work, which in its new call, seeks to make visible how companies respond to the technological revolution and a society in constant evolution from the perspective of sustainability. Companies interested in the initiative may participate by filling out the questionnaire in two possible lines of action: Responsible Technological Transformation and Youth Pact.

In this sense, the proposals that want to be presented must have been developed in 2017/2018, have measurable results and be oriented to incorporate technology, considering ethical criteria in their decisions, or aimed at generating opportunities and improving the working conditions of people and boosting employability.

The event also included a round table discussion in which the partners of Forética's Enterprise 2020 project, formed by IBM, ManpowerGroup, Reale Seguros and Vodafone, together with the BIT Foundation, highlighted the importance of the role of business in the future of work, analyzing how they are responding to these challenges and presenting outstanding cases. They also showed how they are facing the future of work in interesting areas such as the promotion of STEM skills, youth employment, employability for the over 45s or the different technological tools that respond to ethical and sustainability challenges.

Employability, a challenge for everyone and for everyone

Today, other important challenges in the framework of the future of work were analyzed. The focus was on new forms of employment, automation, offshoring and the impact of employment and employability according to age.

Miguel Ángel Malo, an expert in labor issues and professor at the University of Salamanca, emphasized the importance of developing a dialogue between universities and companies to adapt training to the needs of the future of work.

The closing of the Conference had the support of the Balearic Government, represented by Montserrat Berini, General Director of Transparency and Good Governance, who reiterated her support and commitment, one more year with Enterprise 2020, as an institutional partner, as a sign of her support to the challenges and opportunities presented by the future of work and the necessary response from companies, public administration, educational institutions and society.
